We start out close to Runnymede Meadow where the Magna Carta was sealed, traversing through Windsor Great Park to end at the gates of Windsor Castle, residence of English monarchs since its founding by William the Conqueror. Natural beauty along the way includes the water meadows of Runnymede, the bird life of Virginia Park and an endless variety of trees and plants in the Great Park.
This walk is a linear walk starting at Egham station (trains from Waterloo) and finishing at Windsor where there are trains to both Paddington and Waterloo.
Day walks are open to Club Members and Prospective Members alike. There is no charge for attending, but you do need to book with the organiser via the website. Full joining instructions will be emailed to participants by the organiser after the booking deadline.
