Day Walk: The Chilterns

About the event
The walk climbs up to the Bridgewater Monument from where there are grand views across the Buckinghamshire plains across to the west. The walk continues along the ridge and down through beech woods which should by now be in their glorious autumnal colour. The final section of the walk stretches down the canal and back through Aldbury where there is a choice of two pubs for refreshments.
There is a possibility to do a shortened version of 8 miles for tired legs or inclement weather.
There is parking at the station for those coming by car and regular trains from Euston (35 – 40 minutes journey time, 4 an hour).
Day walks are open to Club Members and Prospective Members alike. There is no charge for attending, but you do need to book with the organiser via the website.
