Day Walk: Henley-on-Thames to Nettlebed Return

Date & Location

17 Mar 2024, 10:30 – 17:00

Henley-on-Thames, Henley-on-Thames Railway Station

About the event

Organiser: Jan O'Brien

Booking deadline: 17:00 14th March 2024

This event  is now available to book.

A revised walk (due to advertised Chess Valley walk being inaccessible by public transport 17/3/24).

Starting at Henley-on-Thames railway station we walk up to Nettlebed via gentle hills and woods. At Nettlebed you can get a locally famous cheese toasted sandwich at the Cheese Shed or munch your packed lunch in the churchyard next door (and a chance to admire the John Piper stain glass windows). The route is shown on the Ibex OS maps site: Day Walks Spare Walk Henley to Nettlebed return anticlockwise The walk can be done either clockwise to allow for a caffeine and cakes top up for elevenses or anticlockwise to allow for afternoon tea - this is available at the Greys Court National Trust café which just happens to have a public footpath next to it thereby allowing non NT members to pop in…

To join the walk please do not use the new Ibex website to book a place (by the end of Thursday 14th March) as it is still malfunctioning (the bookings made recently did not in fact reach me). Email me using the following address and I will repy with further information  including joining instructions - daywalks@ibexhillwalkingclub.org.uk.

Day walks are open to Club Members and Prospective Members alike. There is no charge for attending, but you do need to book with the organiser.
