Following the initial interest in this trip we have now booked a chalet in the Austrian Alps, near Ramsau im Zillertal (as per picture). This spacious chalet has 6 bedrooms and can comfortably accommodate 12 Ibex hikers. It is also conveniently located for train access with Innsbruck airport 1 hour away and Salzburg and Munich airports 3-4 hours by train.

This hiking holiday format is a self-catering chalet where we will have group cooking and dining plus the odd night in local restaurants after working up a good appetite on the surrounding mountains. A good level of fitness is needed to make the most of the week.  Cable cars are still running so we will be able to access the higher hikes (2,000-3,000m) as well as the wooded valley sides.  We expect the chalet cost to be around £200 per person for the week so this should be a great low-cost walking holiday in the Alps.

If you wish to know more or join this group, please contact Clive Sinnott (see below). We will require a deposit of £200 by April 15^th from all participants to secure the accommodation and enable everyone to then book trains or flights while they are affordable.
